Paul Thompson, Tri-County Electric CEO, thanked the members for their attendance and support of Tri-County Electric, especially during the pandemic we faced over the past year. He reported on Tri-County Electric’s strong financial position and the challenging year 2020 was. Electric cooperatives are accustomed to working through devastation caused by tornados and ice storms, but we had never experienced anything like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Numerous door prizes were awarded after the business meeting ended, including the Grand Prize Chevrolet Trailblazer won by member-owner Betty Marsh of Lafayette, Tennessee. Tri-County Electric gave umbrellas to members at registration and each child was given a Tri-County Electric T-Shirt. Everyone enjoyed refreshments provided by Linda’s Cakes and Catering and served by the Westmoreland High School Beta Club.
A very special thanks goes to Rick Duffer, Principal of Westmoreland High School and his staff. We appreciate being able to hold our annual meeting at WHS and the great hospitality shown to Tri-County Electric employees and members.
In addition to cash prizes, two iPads were given away in the children’s drawing. Tristan Shaw, 2nd grade student at Austin Tracy Elementary School, and Dillon West, senior at Macon County High School, also won $500 Technology Grants for their schools.
