Alert to our Kentucky Member-Owners
If you have more than one residential account with us, we will contact you by direct mail, email and text to alert you of the requirement for you to select which residential account is your primary residence. Member-owners can stop by any office to obtain and complete the form. If you have only one residential location, you are not required to take any action.
This is NOT a Tri-County Electric requirement, it is a result of the legislature passing HB-8 which changes state sales tax law requiring any residential location other than your primary residence to be taxed 6% on your electric usage. ALL the money collected will be sent directly to the state. Tri-County Electric does not keep any of the revenue.
